First Post

I decided to start this blog today. Well, actually, the idea came to me last night, was consolodated this afternoon and acted upon just now.
The purpose of this blog is to blabber about my new, and first, road bicycle and all our adventures as they happen.
I say 'road bicycle' because it has drop-handlebars, thin tyres and is designed for riding on the road. However, it is actually a Giant Defy 3, which is classed as a sports/ training bicycle. I did not know the difference until my recent pre-purchase research so, if this means nothing to you, you will not be punished. Who knows, I might even be bothered to explain it at some point.
Anyway, I am losing my blogging virginity with this post and it really is just a whim at the moment so could fade away at any time. In fact, this is most likely my last post ever.

  1. I (and I am sure the rest of Britain is behind me in this) seek clarification on the name. How do you interpret the meaning? Is it "Giant Defy" as in "defying a giant"? E.G. Jack urinates against the beanstalk and writes "all giants are bastards" in chalk on the buttons of the giant's oversized trousers? Or is it like "Giant Defy" as in a really big defiance E.G. you want to signify your oppostion to the invasion of Iraq and that you defy George Bush so you go round his house and play golf in his garden but instead of using golf balls you use his pet dog and instead of using a golf club you use a small slow-moving tractor and instead of using Tiger Woods product endorsement deals as sponsorship for the prize money you just write "George Bush is a bastard" on his forehead with a big pen? Kind of thing. Cheers!

  2. Giant Defy 3? Actually, 'defy' is short for 'defile' and it is meant as an order for Ho-Ho-Ho Green Giant to crap in 3 cans of sweetcorn. It is a bit like a sick Willy Wonka Golden Ticket type thing.
